Thursday June 1st, 2001 Tony Valeri, MP along with
Rick Nelson, CFP presented a cheque in the amount of $14,000
to Judy Tait, President, Hamilton Chapter, Canadian Cystic Fibrosis
Wesley Urban Ministries - A registered, charitable organization
providing social service programs for over 47 years from four
locations in North and Central Hamilton. Wesley sees the many
faces of poverty at each of its programs; children from low-income
families, street involved youth and adults who have no place else
to go. All of Wesley's programming goals flow from its vision
statement: "increasing options
Wesley's programs are offered at no charge to marginalized populations
in the greater Hamilton community.

The Gerald Flaherty Agency is an annual major sponsor
for their annual Wesley Open Charity Golf Tournament. In addition,
Rick works on the committee to help organize the event and find
additional sponsors, foursomes, and prize donations.
Rick won approval for a grant in 2001 from The Million Dollar Round Table (an organization which represents the top 2% of life insurance agents worldwide) to fund an art program for Wesley Urban Ministries.
Rick and Jessica have participated in events that have helped the Wesley Urban Ministries raise over $150,000.
